Looking East from lake edge. Note the way the Reedmace (Bulrush) is advancing rapidly around the edge. This provides dense cover and nesting sites for birds such as Moorhen, Coot, Mallard, Sedge Warbler and Reed Warbler. There is a good population of the nationally endangered Reed Bunting which feed in the Reedmace and bring their young here.
