Seen here in the year the site was acquired by the Woodland Trust. Notice that the lake is now fully formed; it is now 10 years old and the wet "flash" has developed to the south. Saltersford Brook has been culverted on the east of the site and most of the site has been devoted to cereal crops. Oakthorpe Colliery site is now clear of buildings. That site is now a County Council picnic site with Car Park and footpaths. The line of the tramway which ran from Willesley Basin towards Ashby has all but disappeared. Willesley Lake can be seen in the top right corner.
